The 2024 Gift Guide: Everything I Want To Gift and Get
Thoughtful and stylish gifts for everyone on your list.
Welcome back to Let’s Get Dressed, a weekly newsletter where I share my endeavors in fashion — and this week, endeavors in gift giving!
I grew up in a big family (I’m one of five siblings) so gift-giving was practically a sport in our house. My mom taught us to never show up anywhere empty-handed, a lesson in thoughtfulness and appreciation that’s stayed with me ever since. Below, you’ll find some of my all-time favorite gifts to give and receive. From the perfect tote for your friend who’s constantly on the go, to stunning jewelry for your significant other, and stocking stuffers that will make you the best sibling ever, think of this as your ultimate cheat sheet to nailing the perfect gift this holiday season.
These are some highlights, and you can view my full list of close to 100 gift ideas here.
Gifts Under $250
Sophie Lou Jacobsen Totem Glasses — These glasses are my ultimate go-to gift, no matter the occasion. Whether it’s a housewarming, a thank-you gesture, or just because, they’re always a crowd favorite. Yes, they’re ideal for martinis, but you can also put dessert in it too ◡̈
Papier Custom Stationery — I’m a fierce advocate for hand-written notes, and there’s nothing chicer than when it’s on custom stationery. Also for any newlyweds in your life, these are the best gift!
Soho Home House Robe— Having tested nearly every hotel robe out there, I can confidently say this is the best. I brought one home after my wedding this summer and now I wear it every day. Opt for the brown color and have it customized.
Flamingo Estate Personalized Heritage Extra Virgin Olive Oil — If you’re looking for a great office, client, or colleague gift, do this. The Flamingo Estate Olive Oil is divine, and you can customize the front label to say anything you want.
Millennial Decorator Monogrammed Toiletry Bag — For the frequent traveler in your life, this monogrammed toiletry bag is a game changer. I received one earlier this year, and I honestly don’t know how I ever traveled without it.
Gifts Under $500
Green Marble Rummikub Set — Rummikub is a staple in our house, but we’ve often wished there were a more sleek version of the game vs the ones we get on Amazon. CB2 has just released this stunning green marble set, and I’m already planning to gift it to a few of my friends (and frequent opponents) this holiday season.
Freja Linnea Tote — One of the most frequent questions I get from my community is where to find a fashionable tote for the daily commute. Enter the Freja Linnea tote, which feels more like an elevated handbag than a traditional office tote. I’ve been carrying mine to the podcast studio every day, and I can confirm it’s perfect.
Tory Burch Oval Watch — A part of my personal collection, this watch is a thoughtful gift to elevate someone’s everyday wardrobe.
Dries Van Noten Sneakers — For the stylish person in your life, these are the sneakers of the season and a great winter shoe. They tend to sell out quickly, so I’d suggest getting them while you can.
Bottega Veneta Credit Card Holder — I’m a been a fan of giving wallets as gifts because they’re the kind of practical luxury item people rarely buy for themselves. Last year, I gifted this Bottega Veneta credit card holder to Alex, and it felt like a subtle but essential upgrade.
Gifts Under $1,000
Toteme T-Lock Leather Clutch — One of the best bags of the year, the Toteme T-Lock bag is a 3-in-1 bag with a shoulder strap, crossbody, and clutch option. Great for anyone in your life looking for a classic black staple for their closet.
Rimowa Cabin Carry-On — As someone who’s taken over 30 flights this year, I don’t think I’ll ever use any other suitcase besides my Rimowa Carry-On and Essential Trunk set. They’re the Porsche of travel luggage and a dream gift for anyone moving, traveling, or just frequently on-the-go.
Coach Slim Briefcase — Perfect for a new graduate, significant other, or office-bound person in your life that might need an upgrade from a simple backpack.
Gifts Over $1,000
Saint Laurent Crystal Bag — *Cough, cough husband if you’re reading this please take note* — I absolutely die for this bag. Something sparkly is always a good idea for the holidays (so is something Saint Laurent).
Guest in Residence Grizzly Coat — I was at Sunset Tower for dinner the other night and got stopped FOUR times over this coat. A nice man even came up to me and asked me where it was from because his fiancé was talking about it during their dinner and he wanted to get it for her for Christmas. So sweet. This gift is one of the best on this list.
Ralph Lauren Mother-of-Pearl Cuff Link & Stud Set — A very chic gift for the stylish man in your life.
Cartier Tank Watch — The Cartier Tank has had quite a year, topping the must-have charts of fashionistas and editors alike. I think a watch is the dream holiday gift (maybe it’s the Carrie Bradshaw in me), and a vintage one with a story to boot feels all the more special.
Classic Diamond Studs — A staple for every jewelry wardrobe - diamond studs are a foolproof gift that you can’t really go wrong with.
Before I leave you, a few of my biggest tips as we enter Black Friday/Cyber Monday week to keep you sane…
Plan your buy - use next week as an opportunity to stock up on closet essentials you need from basic white tees, to undergarments, to that dreamy pair of jeans you’ve been looking at.
No big impulse purchases! Sale signs are so tempting… but just because something’s on sale, doesn’t mean you need to buy it.
If you have a long list of gifts you need to get for the holiday season, next week might be a good time to get ahead of those and jump on some really great deals. Don’t leave it to the last minute!
Thanksgiving week is upon us and it’s my favorite week of the year. I’ll be home in Los Angeles with my family, enjoying my mom’s famous Oreo Banana Cream Pie and snuggling my dog. Sending you all my love and hope you have a wonderful holiday week <3
Until next Friday, you can find me on Instagram and more of my closet favorites here.
