Tory Burch Spring 2025 Show in September 2024

Welcome back to Let’s Get Dressed, a newsletter where I share my endeavors in fashion — what I’m wearing, shopping, trying on, and thinking about — to give you some inspiration for the week ahead. It’s my fashion diary, except I’m actually letting you look inside.

I’ll never forget when Tory Burch launched her pierced mules in the Spring/Summer 2023 collection. At first, they were a bit polarizing, and definitely the antithesis to the quiet luxury era we were in. But before long, the entire VIP front row — Michelle Williams, Joey King, and more — showed up to her Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear show in matching pierced heels from the latest collection. It was a viral moment, and in my mind, the official start of what I now call: the summer of shoe jewelry.

Fast-forward to summer 2025, and metallic hardware, sculptural beads, and anklet-inspired moments are everywhere, from chain-wrapped ballet flats to toe-ring-detail sandals. It’s a trend that feels both elevated and easy or, as my sister put it, “the perfect shoe to take us from the beach to dinner without a second thought.”

In my opinion, what made this rise in decorative sandals land is how low effort, high impact they are. A flash of gold or silver at your feet instantly pulls an outfit together. I always echo the metal in my jewelry or bag hardware, whether it’s a bronze bead or a chrome buckle, the shoe usually tells me what to do. Honestly, it feels easier than a sandal without anything on it. I love not having to choose between silver or gold because the answer’s already there!

Below is how I styled my new favorite pair for a meeting yesterday, plus a few more outfit ideas to inspire your upcoming summer looks.

Mimchik top, Rue Sophie skirt, Loro Piana bag, Dolce Vita flats.
